The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals are part of a global plan to promote sustainable peace and prosperity and protect our planet. With the 2030 Agenda, they have not only gained importance in politics but have also become more present in society.
Through the dissemination of art and the support of artists, we aim above all to contribute to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their indicators:
🎯 SDG 4: Quality
Education
Arts funding supports lifelong learning, cultural education, and creative skills – particularly through
art education, cultural programs in schools, and non-formal educational opportunities.
👉 Art as part of holistic education strengthens creative thinking, intercultural competence, and critical reflection – all key skills for sustainable
action.
🎯 SDG 5:
Gender Equality
Cultural funding programs can specifically empower disadvantaged groups (e.g., female artists, queer or migrant creatives) and provide them with public visibility.
👉 Art can contribute to challenging gender-based stereotypes and creating spaces for equality – including through targeted funding policy.
🎯 SDG 8: Decent Work
and Economic Growth
Artists are often in precarious economic employment. Supporting them strengthens the cultural and creative sector, which is a significant branch of the economy.
👉 Public support (e.g., grants, studios, commissions) can enable fair working conditions for artists and strengthen the economic resilience of the sector.
🎯 SDG 10: Reduced
Inequalities
Art has the potential to make marginalized voices heard – and to promote social participation, e.g., of people with a migration background or disabilities.
👉 Cultural participation can strengthen social inclusion – for example through low-threshold services, promoting diversity in the cultural sector, or participatory projects.
